Intermittently drying experiments of Chinese prickly ash under microwave powers of 800 W, 509 W and 290 W respectively were conducted. A self-developed device was used to measure the mass and temperature of the ash in the experiments. The experimental results showed that the microwave drying time was much shorter than that of traditional hot-air drying, but the quality of the microwave dried ash was not as good as that of hot-air drying and this characteristic was getting more and more remarkable with increase of microwave power. In addition, the monomial proliferation model, exponential model and Page equation were used to describe the folium microwave-drying of the ash and the results showed that first one gave the best result.
