A method based on the data acquisition card for measuring the revolution speed of the turbocharger was given. By way of applying an adaptive filter, the measurement method dealt with the noise of the revolution speed signal. The characteristics of the signal’s extreme points were used to recognize the period of the signal. The analysis and experiment indicated that the method could measure the turbocharger revolution speed instantaneously even when the signal of the turbocharger speed was badly biased.
