Abstract: Sugarcane cutting was analyzed with the currency finite element analysis software ANSYS, and distinguish standard of single base cutter on the bad incision state has been worked out by means of finite element. Through physical simulative experiment, distinguish standard of broken root by base cutter's pressing was formulated. Simulative kinematics analysis of cutting sugarcane continuously has been carried out by using the dynamics analysis software ADAMS, and the quantity study on affecting factors and interactive effect on the rate of broken biennial root was done. The results showed that the combination of low frequency and low speed ratio, low amplitude and few razor blades are beneficial in reducing the rate of broken biennial root. Under the combination of factors (amplitude and frequency is zero, speed ratioX1=24, obliquity of base cutterX4=15°, the number of razor bladesX5=2), the rate of broken biennial root is 6.7%.

Abstract: According to the characteristics of mini-type sugarcane harvester and optimal crop parameters, the knife was designed with reasonable structures. Consequently, the sugarcane harvester base cutter was designed. The engineering analysis software was employed to accomplish analyzing the structural kinetic, static and dynamic analysis of the knife and the corresponding sugarcane harvester base cutter. Then the structural reliability and crop performance were validated. The natural frequencies of the designed base cutter and its possible destroy forms were also attained, which provided some references for sugarcane harvester designing. The 3-D model software was applied to plot the 3-D model of the base cutter. It can be used for the exploitation of the physical prototype for further applications.

Abstract: Installation of a jet device in centrifugal pump inlet can improve property of anti-cavitation. Because of the limitation of structural dimension for traditional single injector jet device, the throat cannot be long, so the flow can not be fully mixed, which results the low efficiency of the jet device and the improvement of cavitation performance is not good. A new method has been advanced. Using multi-nozzle jet device to enhance the energy of sucked liquid, in case the throat was short, the mixture of energy could be uniformly mixed, which enhanced the efficiency of the jet device. The basic structure of multi-nozzle jet centrifugal pump was presented, some corresponding theoretical analysis was made and comparison test was done. The results showed that the installation of multi-nozzle jet device could increase the inlet pressure to 1.53 m. This method opened a new path for solving the cavitation problem of centrifugal pump and has an important significance in practical application.

Abstract: Based on 3-D-steady Navier Stokes equations with the standard k-ε turbulence closure models, the structure mesh with fitted body coordinate and the finite element based finite volume method, the 400 meters head pump-turbine runner inner flow was simulated in the pump mode. The head, efficiency and net positive suction head of the pump-turbine have been calculated through integrating the velocity and pressure of the finite volume in the runner. The velocity, vorticity and the blade pressure distribution rules were all discussed. The meridional velocity near the leading edge of the blade had the 'S' shape along the radius, and that near the trailing edge of the blade had the 'M' shape along the radius. The vorticity mainly appeared on the blade, crown and band of the runner.

Abstract: Real-time test for an agricultural machine was very complex in the field and the traditional method of test for consumed power of cornstalk breaking was taken by wire. Now a new method of consumed power measurement was introduced. By means of wireless local area networks technology, the consumed power of cornstalk breaking was measured easily and safely in the field. By adopting orthogonal regression experiment, the results showed that when the speed of corn chopper was 2.9 km/h and the rotary speed of knife axis was 597 r/min, the optimal parameters of consumed power and the percent smashing quality were respectively 2.98 kW and 90.017%.

Abstract: Support conditions were given and unchanged in standard topology optimization. An integrated method, which was based on SIMP (solid isotropic material with penalization model) and for structure and supports, has been proposed. Support conditions were introduced as a new set of design variables that represented supported areas. In this work, supports were simulated as elastic springs such as the supports in the optimal design could be considered either free or fixed. The method has been applied in compliance minimization and several 2D examples were tested. The effects of variable cost on supports, the original stiffness of the spring and intermediate densities of supports were discussed. The support conditions and structure were optimized simultaneously, which extended the standard topology optimization method and proposed a new method for supports design.

Abstract: A novel weakly-coupled spatial parallel manipulator with three degrees-of-freedom (DOFs), containing two-translational and one-rotational (2T1R) DOFs, was addressed. The manipulator consisted of a moving platform and a fixed base connected by two limbs, in which one limb contained a planar five-bar closed loop, and another included a planar parallelogram. Three actuated joints of the manipulator were all mounted on the base. Analytic solutions of position for both direct and inverse kinematics were derived. The mapping relationship between the actuated joints velocity vector space and moving platform velocity vector space has been established. Simulation curves of the inverse solutions of position and velocity were described. The conditions of each kind of singularity configurations of the manipulator, according to the classification of singularity, were discussed in detail, and a theoretic basis for path planning and control of the mechanism was provided. The manipulator proposed here, has widely potential application in the fields of parallel machine tools, simulators and massage robots.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of FEM (finite element method) and DEM (discrete element method), the research considered that the DEM is feasible and superior to the FEM in simulating the interaction between wheel and the lunar soil. The model of the interaction between rigid wheel and lunar soil has been set up. The system of soil bin was simulated by means of software PFC2D. Parameters of the lunar soil for DEM model were confirmed in the biax test, and the angle of internal friction was 42°, the cohesion was 1.554 kPa, the Poisson radio was 0.41, and the Young's modulus was 77.5 MPa. The DEM model of the slip, sinkage, and draw-bar pull were found, which were checked out by the soil bin test. The results showed that the trend is consistent. Finally, the traffic ability of nonrug-wheel and the rug-wheel were compared, and the results showed that the slip radio was zero of the rug-wheel and was 1.8% of the nonrug-wheel under the tractive resistance was zero, and the draw-bar pull was 121.6 N of the rug-wheel and was 7.71 N of the nonrug-wheel, when the clip ratio is 10%.

Abstract: The purpose is to present a new robust strategy in controlling the semi-active suspension system. The strategy utilized the sliding mode model-following control scheme. A quarter-car model was used in the project, and the proposed controller was easy to be implemented, and it was not necessary to measure the road signal and damper force. An approximate ideal skyhook system was used by the controller as a reference model, and the control law was determined so that an asymptotically stable sliding mode would occur in the error dynamics between the plant and the reference model states. A uniform reaching law was adopted to improve the dynamic quality of sliding mode motion. The performance of the controller has been compared with the passive system, the practical skyhook and the ideal skyhook systems. A simulation study was performed to prove the effectiveness and robustness of the control approach.

Abstract: For the high-speed development of technology, there are a lot of different machining schemes for one part. The selection of machining scheme is a multi-objective problem. A method based on genetic algorithms (GA) was proposed to find out the set of Pareto-optimal solutions for multi-objective digital machining scheme selection. To deal with multi-objective and enable the engineer to make decision on different demands, an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was implemented in the proposed procedure to determine the weight value of evaluation indexes. Three conflicting objectives: cost, quality and operation time, were simultaneously optimized. The processing of hole and surface of headstock was used as an example to prove the validity of the hybrid algorithm.

Abstract: Mother wavelet function 'db12' was adopted for rotor fault with different rub-impact degrees. The displacement signals were decomposed into 6 levels. Reassigned Morlet wavelet scalogram has been used to extract fault features for wavelet frequency bands with obvious time-frequency features. The decomposed signals in different decomposed levels together with their frequency-band energy ratios were discussed in details. The results showed that fault features could be extracted well by combining two mother wavelet functions and frequency-band energy plot in different rub-impact conditions. In the stage of slight rub-impact, high and low frequency components are all small; in the stage of moderate rub-impact, stable X/2 based harmonic components occured and in the stage of serious rub-impact, the energy of harmonic components are greater than rotational frequency and reached the maximum.

Abstract: The model and control of a single axis electromagnetic suspension for vibration isolation was set up. In order to study the vibration isolation characteristics, a set of linearized dynamic equations were used. The design of state feedback controllers that minimize the mean square absolute displacement response of the suspension and minimize a measure of the system energy dissipation has been considered. In both cases the suspension system was assume to be excited by random white noise disturbances. It is shown that near optimum disturbance attenuation and energy dissipation could be achieved without current feedback. The suboptimum controller gains with the state feedback gains obtained by using linear quadratic optimal control theory have been compared. The result showed that the disturbance attenuation characteristics of the electromagnetic suspension could be made superior to that of a passive isolation system. Experimental results were also presented.

Abstract: In order to research motor vehicles regenerative braking, a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) bench design was introduced. The modular method and hierarchical control mode have been adopted in test bench hardware structure designing, CAN bus was used to connect each of the controllers, and it has better controllability and expansibility. The software of test bench has been developed based on the virtual instrument technology. The test bench could perform simulating auto driving and braking conditions, energy conversion, energy reclaiming and reusing. The HIL research projects could be carried out on the test bench including braking stability, energy reclaim and reuse, controlling of braking pedal and harmony controlling in plurality braking, also theories of brake-by-wire could be tested after it expanded.

Abstract: As one of the widely utilized renewable energy of environmental protection materials, straw can generate electricity by burning directly. Mathematical modeling methods have been employed to simulate a straw-fired grate boiler, not only the temperature, velocity and concentration distributing of the top of bed in different conditions, but also the burning rate of bed and burning character of furnace chamber were calculated, by varying the ratio of primary air and the second air. The results showed that when the ratio of primary air and the second air is 1.3:0.7, the lowest value of concentration of CO is 0.29 mol/m3, the average temperature of furnace chamber outlet is 1180 K, and concentration of O2 is 2.18 mol/m3. It is proved that the simulation results compared reasonably well with the relative literature measurement data.

Abstract: The foreign no-till seeders are heavy, big and expensive, they are not suitable to the Chinese situation of small size land, small tractor power and poor rural economy, and therefore, developing local light no-till seeders is necessary in China. With 10 year efforts since early 90's of the last century, a batch of light no-till seeders with passive anti-blockage were successfully developed and widely applied in one-crop-a-year region of north China. However, the anti-blockage ability of those seeders were limited and hardly used in high yield area. From 2000, several innovative no-till seeders based on active anti-blockage have been created; their anti-blockage abilities reached to international advanced level, the weight of the seeders 50% lighter and price 80% lower than the foreign no-till seeders. The design ideas of foreign no-till seeder are heavy weight and passive anti-blockage; ours are light weight, passive and active anti-blockage for different yield lands. 80000 more sets of light no-till seeders were used in 2007, among them, over 20000 sets had high anti-blockage ability with power driven. China became the first country in using light seeders to realize conservation tillage in the world.

Abstract: Horse mackerels were dried in a heat pump dehumidifier (HPD) which is capable of producing stepwise control of drying air temperature. Two stepwise air temperature profiles were tested. The drying characteristics and total color difference (ΔE) of the products dried under these stepwise variation of temperature were measured and compared with constant air temperature drying. It was observed that by employing stepwise change in drying air temperature with the appropriate starting temperature and cycle time, it was possible to reduce drying time to reach the desired moisture content with significantly improved product color. The optimum condition for time-varying temperature drying of horse mackerel was step-up profile with initial temperature of 20°C and cycle time of 3.5 h.

Abstract: There are kinds of nutrients including Vc in citrus juice. But naringin and limonin, the main bitter substances which are difficult to be accepted during drinking and thus limit the citrus further processing, were also found. The characteristic of limonin biodegradation in citrus juice by lactic acid bacteria was studied. A strain of streptococcus lactis had the maximum percentage of limonin biodegradation rate among the tested lactic acid bacteria. The limonin biodegradation rate of 66.7% was obtained when the strain of streptococcus lactis was cultivated under the optimum conditions of the temperature of juice at 37°C, the original pH of juice, the loading volume of 150 mL juice in 250 mL flask and stationary culture. It was also showed that treatment with lactic acid bacteria had much decrease in the concentrations of limonin and naringin, a little increase in the contents of the soluble solids and the Bx of sugar and little impairment of quality parameters of citrus juice, including pH value and titratable acidity.

Abstract: A new methodology for main bearing cap design was presented based on topological optimization and shape optimization. In topological optimization, filter functions of elements with respect to the unit volume and stiffness matrices were selected based on RAMP interpolation scheme. In shape optimization, efficient derivatives have been obtained by using approximate-difference strategy. Structural volume was taken as objectives and structural responses such as displacements, stresses were taken as constraints. This kind of model ensured consistency in topological optimization and shape optimization model. Volume of main bearing cap has been minimized subject to rigidity and strength constraints. The feasibility and efficiency of the proposed methods were demonstrated by the experiment.

Abstract: Monte Carlo method was applied to simulate the distribution of the contact fatigue stress and the contact fatigue strength of spiral bevel gear, furthermore, reliability was also simulated. The method solved the small sample problem. According to the analysis, the contact fatigue stress of the gear submitted the normal distribution, and the strength of the gear obeyed the lognormal. The reliability error of the contact fatigue was reduced with the increase of the simulation times. Sensitivity analysis has been made on the stress random parameters which probably impacted the contact fatigue reliability of the gear. Results revealed that the affection of mean is remarkable to the reliability of the gear. The standard error is relatively small.

Abstract: Both calibration method and static decoupling algorithm were employed to analyze wheel force transducer (WFT). Firstly, the calibration procedure and extraction of sample data were presented in detail based on the self-developed hydraulic bench. Then, three decoupling methods were utilized respectively to quantify the coupling effects. The main findings are as the follows: the linearity of each main calibration channel is notable; the calculated rate of static coupling of the self-developed WFT is equal to the same-type foreign product; the least square support vector regression (LS-SVR) algorithm owns the characteristics of high regression precision, outstanding generalization and excellent algorithm stability; the method to modify the algorithm of the standard OLS-RBF NN (orthogonal least square radial-basis-function neural network) improves the regression performance significantly.

Abstract: Based on conjugate heat transfer method, the influence of coolant flow on temperature distribution of cylinder block-cooling water coupling model and thermal deformation of the cylinder liners were calculated on the results of CFD analysis for the whole cooling water system by using commercial software ANSYS. The flow and pressure filed of the whole cooling system, the temperature distribution of the coupling model and thermal deformation of the cylinder liners were demonstrated, which showed that the temperature and thermal deformation had remarkable changes along axial and circumferential direction, and these also provided theoretical evidence for failure simulation and optimization design of diesel engine.

Abstract: The optimization of determination for organophosphate pesticide residues in vegetables was studied. In the promise of higher sensitivity, a new low cost reagent components, whose dosage of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), substrate and chromogenic reagent were 3/4, 3/4 and 1/2 that of original components respectively, thus saved cost of reagent. The result was achieved through contrastive test. F-test proved that there was no significant difference between adjusted components and original components. The lower limit of determination of adjusted components to three pesticides is omethoate 0.37 mg/L, trichlorphon 0.09 mg/L, dichlorvos 0.035 mg/L, which is consistent with those of national standard rapid determination method.

Abstract: As a key part of diaphragm spring clutch, diaphragm spring determines the load characteristics of the clutch by its load-distortion properties that are sensitive to the dimension of diaphragm spring. In order to predict or determine the probability of normal performance under desired working condition to control qualified rate of products, calculus of probability model for load-distortion properties of diaphragm spring by means of mathematical statistics was established. Based on the model, the standard deviation was calculated by applying normal distribution algebra, first order second moment method and Monte Carlo simulation. The standard deviation is relatively less by normal distribution algebra; bigger by first order second moment method, and fluctuant along with false random sample by Monte Carlo simulation. These three methods all satisfied design precision of automobile clutch diaphragm spring.

Abstract: The micrometer-scaled channels with different width and depth on the Si surface were prepared by femtosecond laser ablation. The relationship between the hydrophobicity and flow drag reduction has been studied through the measurement of water contact angle (WCA) and rheological characteristic experiment after the samples were made hydrophobic through a chemical reaction with an organosilane. It is found in the experiment that the bigger the WCA or the more hydrophobic water is, the more remarkable the effects of drag reduction would be. Accordingly, the certain-extent-controllable hydrophobicity of solid surface could be prepared by the laser ablation and also the characteristics of drag reduction would be controlled.

Abstract: After investigating the characteristic of variable parameter compound chaotic system, the method to produce compound chaotic system with variable parameter was introduced and compound chaotic system with more Lyapunov exponent to chaotic system with parameter was produced. Newton optimization iteration methods that based on variable parameter compound chaotic system was combined with mechanism synthesis theory, and then the solving method of mechanism synthesis problem based on variable parameter compound chaotic system was put forward. As an example, the problem of function generation for planar four-link mechanism was considered for synthesis and approximate synthesis at given positions. This made multi-projects selecting possible. The method is adaptive to planar multi-linkage and special mechanism.

Abstract: Relationships among the three expressive values of diesel engine smog emission, such as Bosch smog value, extinction coefficient value and smog mass concentration value, were established by means of mathematical analysis method. Every two expressive values have higher relativity. In order to validate the calculation accuracy, the smog emission of three kinds of automotive diesel engines was tested. The comparative results of experiment and calculation showed that the formulas used to make calculation between Bosch smog value and extinction coefficient value are able to get a high accuracy. When diesel engine operates at higher load operating condition, the particulate matter emission can be calculated accurately by the formula between Bosch smog value and particulate matter concentration, but there is some calculation error as the engine load is lower. At lighter load operating condition of diesel engine, there is a lot of soluble organic fraction in particulate matter, but Bosch smog meter is only able to measure the black degree of filter paper.

Abstract: Based on near infrared spectroscopy technique and partial least squares (PLS), calibration model of volatile oil content of 141 powder samples with particle size of 40 meshes was established to classify Zanthoxylum bungeagum Maxim more rapidly. After spectra were preprocessed by direct orthogonal signal correction (DOSC), the determination coefficient (R2) increased from 0.936 to 0.95 and the root mean square error of cross validation (RMSECV) decreased from 0.421 to 0.374. Applying the model established by 105 samples to the test set with 36 samples, R2 increased from 0.923 to 0.969, the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) decreased from 0.452 to 0.289, RPD increased from 3.622 to 5.573 and RSD decreased from 11.65% to 7.44% after spectra were preprocessed by DOSC. The research indicated that the model preprocessed by DOSC is better, and the precision of model got higher. The result showed that rapid detection of volatile oil content in Zanthoxylum bungeagum Maxim by NIR and DOSC is feasible and efficient.

Abstract: The soy was taken as the investigative object and the red edge spectral reflectivity was simulated by inverted Gaussian model. The red edge swing (Dλred) was gained after differential coefficient original spectrum and SWeibull model to estimate chlorophyll has been set up. The correlative coefficient was 0.7812. At the same time the multivariate un-linear regression equation between TK content and absorption depth parameters were obtained by the method of continuum removal with their correlative coefficient of 0.7625. It is proved that the possibility of forecast plants' nutrition status by the least spectral data within given wave band and the theory also provided a foundational consult to exploit on-line detecting nutrition and variable fertilization in the fields.

Abstract: A design and evaluation software for precision farm land levelling engineering was developed with the application of modified plane method. The software has different functions such as farm land elevation data input and statistic analysis, description of microtopography conditions as well as estimation of earthwork. The application effects of three different interpolated methods on software were evaluated based on field data. The results showed that three interpolated methods could be used to produce grid elevation data in farm land and give out the general description of surface condition. However, the Kriging interpolated method gave out the best estimations for both grid elevation data and the earthwork volume. It is suggested that the Kriging interpolated method is applied in designing for farm land precision land levelling engineering.

Abstract: Based on field experimental data gained at automatization greenhouse in water-saving park of Hohai University, character of water demand and yield of space-time deficit irrigation for hot pepper in greenhouse was studied. The results indicated that soil water content at two sides of furrow fluctuated with the introduction of the alternate partial root-zone irrigation during regulated deficit irrigation at some stage of hot pepper, which could enhance the adsorptive ability of root system. Under the condition of abundant water supplying, the maximum water consumption was at vigorous growing stage, followed by seedling stage and bloom and fruit setting stage, relatively small at later fruit-bearing stage, which respectively accounted for 39.96%, 22.91%, 19.34% and 17.19% of total water consumption. The effects of drought stress and irrigation model at different growing stages on evapotranspiration were significant. In order to attain high yield and high water use efficiency (WUE), moderate uniform deficit irrigation should be introduced to two sides of root-zone at seeding stage, re-water at bloom and fruit setting stages, uniform deficit irrigation and alternate partial root-zone irrigation should be adopted at vigorous growing stage and later fruit-bearing stage, respectively.

Abstract: A simple and practical method to measure the load of AGV(automated guided vehicle), which calculated the additional torque of the load through measuring longitudinal obliquity of AGV, was adopted. Dynamic theoretical analysis and mathematical model on a two-wheel-driven AGV have been completed. By experimental researches in working place, the compensation coefficient and the relationship between orientation angle and additional torque were obtained. The test results showed that trace tracking errors of AGV brought by longitudinal unsymmetrical loads could be eliminated to some extent by using this method.
